Gift of Weaving Design Software to AUST by Akij Group


Gift of Weaving Design Software to AUST by Akij Group

Akij Group of Industries gave a software gift, worth more than taka eight lakh, to the Textile Engineering Department, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The key of this software was handed over to Prof. Dr. A. M. M. Safiullah, Vice-Chancellor of AUST by SK. Jamil Uddin, Director of Akij Group held in a simple ceremony at the meeting room of the VC recently.

VC Prof. Dr. Safiullah thanked the Akij Group for this gift and appreciated cooperation from Akij Group they had been extending to the university on various occasion. He expected both AUST and Akij Group will mutually benefit and continue to grow in the future. He also stressed on the need for cooperation between the industries and the universities for development of innovative technologies to serve the nation. 

On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam, Treasurer of AUST, Prof. Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, Head, Department of TE, AUST, faculty members belonging to the Fabric Manufacturing Engineering Section of TE, AUST and high officials of Akij Group were present there. 

In his speech, Jamil Uddin referred to the long- established collaboration between their industry and TE of AUST. The gift of the software will strengthen the link further and widen scope of existing cooperation, he hoped. He also suggested to improving the standard of textile education offered at AUST and assured more concrete support to achieve that goal in the days to come.
