A Webinar on Pathway to Research Culture: Colloquium 1: Academic Writing Strategy for High Impact Journals was held on July 25, 2022 (Monday), from 7.30 PM (BST)-10:00 PM (BST). Dr. Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz (Professor, Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia) conducted the session. Department of EEE, AUST; IEEE AUST Student Branch; IEEE AUST Student Branch WIE Affinity Group; IEEE SPS & IEEE ComSoc Joint SB Chapter AUST; and IEEE Power & Energy Society AUST SB Chapter jointly organized this event.

The event was streamed LIVE through the Zoom Platform. About 83 participants were present in the session. Distinguished faculty members from different departments were also present. The event was open for all students and faculty members of AUST.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology) gave an enlightening speech to start the session.

Dr. Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz started his presentation by addressing the current ongoing work, research interests and areas. Later, he discussed ways to develop research culture, lecturer job scopes, research article writing structure & techniques, general principles of research writing, key research methods, journal listing & rankings.

At the end of the main session, Prof. Dr. Tareq Aziz (Advisor, IEEE PES AUST SB Chapter) took the virtual floor to moderate the Q&A session. With interesting questions from the audience and perceptive responses and recommendations from the renowned speaker, the Q&A session was a true delight. It was an informative webinar for both new and experienced researchers. The session adjourned with a vote of thanks.
