Ulkasemi Ltd. organized a four-day long event named “VLSITHON 1.0 - Battle of IC Layout Design Engineers”. The event was supported by the IEEE UIU Student Branch. It was held at the United International University (UIU) campus on November 1-4, 2022. A total of 50 teams from 15 public and private universities participated in this event.
Among them, 7 teams were from the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AUST. The event was divided into 4 stages. After 3 selection rounds, 15 teams were selected for the final round. Among them, 5 teams were from the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AUST. The main goal of this event was to provide a platform for VLSI enthusiast students to show their skills in VLSI Design and to inspire them to build a career in this prominent field.
The prize-giving ceremony was held at the United International University (UIU) Auditorium on Monday, December 5, 2022. Mr. Enayetur Rahman, the President and CEO of Ulkasemi, was present at the event. Among others, respected faculty members of the department of EEE, AUST, Prof. Dr. Satyendra Nath Biswas and Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Ehtesanul Islam were also present at the event.
“TEAM ODD” comprising Mariam Hossain Nijhum and Shadman Hasan Khan, students in the 4th year 2nd semester, of the department of EEE, AUST secured the 2nd runner-up position at the event.
